Our
History
Like most security wholesalers, Doyle Security Products started
out as a retail locksmith operation. The company was founded in
1921 by Howard Doyle, who like many locksmiths of the time, rode
the street cars to get to his service calls. As early as 1927 he
started selling supplies to other locksmiths. Over the years Doyle
has had to move nine times. Each time was because of a lack
of space to handle their growth.
In 1962 the Doyle family sold the business to the Hromadko-Wilson
partnership. In 1972 Hromadko bought out his partner and was now
the sole owner of Doyle. In 1976, they put their first salesman
on the road and the next year produced their first catalog. In 1980
Hromadko sold the retail part of the business to concentrate his
total efforts on the wholesaling of security products. In 1996 the
business was sold to its present owner who had served as the General
Manager of the business for the previous nine years.
The Company has been able to show steady growth with a combination
of exceptional customer service, provided by the most knowledgeable
sales staff in the upper Midwest, and a commitment to an inventory
stocked to meet our customers needs. Doyle has been the leader
for many years in the locksmith wholesale business. We were
one of the first to stock safes on an extensive basis, and also
were one of the first high security keyway distributors. We also
lead the way in offering electronic security to the marketplace.
The combination of a dedicated, knowledgeable staff and cutting
edge products for today's market make Doyle Security Products the
logical supplier for today's progessive locksmiths.
